What does “Víla” mean?
In most Slavic languages “víla” means fairy. Pronounced vEE-luh. Shelby’s heritage is Balkan (the Producer & Organizer of Víla Fest), so it is a small way to honor her heritage.
When and where is this Bellydance Festival?
- April 10-12, 2026 
- Shoreline Community College THEATER, just 11 miles from the Space Needle. 
What’s the difference between the Hafla and Showcase?
- The Hafla is casual daytime performances happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Anyone can sign up for the Hafla! 
 
- The Showcase is NW Víla Fest’s formal show (Fri/Sat 7-9pm) that includes performances from our big name Instructors. Anyone can apply for the showcase but if you are accepted, it is required to every person on in the troupe to register for 2 Workshops. 
- Both Hafla AND Showcases are both happening on the big 20'“x30” stage with velvet purple curtains and an amazing background.

Are there performing opportunities?
We have a lot of performing opportunities at NW Víla Fest!
- 3 days of daytime Hafla performances. - Hafla sign up form here. 
- 2 evening Showcases (Fri/Sat, 7-9pm). All showcase performers are required to register for 2, or more workshops, this includes ALL members of a performing troupe. If 5 people are performing in a showcase, then all 5 people need to register for 2 workshops each.

Are children welcome?
Yes, although this festival is meant for adults, children are still welcome. The vendors market, hafla, grassy courtyard and food truck area are great places for children. There will be a small area for kids to color near the vending market.
Children 10 years of age and under have free entry into the Showcases and Workshops as long as they are accompanied by an adult (the accompanying adult is required to pay for a showcase ticket or workshop class). Showcases are not children sensored, view at your own discretion. 
A workshop I want to attend is sold out, what can I do?
There’s a chance that some people no-show and you can squeeze into the workshop. Simply go to the Check In table and find out if there are openings day of.
A workshop I’m in just got cancelled, what happened?
Sadly we need a minimum of about 10-12 people for each workshop.
I bought tickets (to workshops and/or shows) but now I can’t go, what I can do?

Parking?
There is parking right next to SCC theater. Parking is free on Saturday and Sunday. People attending Friday need a parking pass.
Friday Parking Passes: Park near Theater, walk to check in booth in the lobby of theater, ask for a parking pass, and then put the pass on your dash board to avoid a ticket.
You can buy a parking pass from NW Víla Fest in person for $1 at the check in booth, or from the SCC ticketing kiosk at entrance of parking lot for $7.
Free parking after 5pm.

Who is hosting this event?
Shelby O’Neil. Shelby runs and operate Pisces Productions / NW Víla Fest. Shelby is from Seattle and started Bellydancing at age 14 and loved it ever since. At night she finds time for Dark Fusion Bellydance, Arabic Folk Dance, and Balkan Folk Dance, and during the day she is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Aromatherapist. On top of dance and work, more importantly, Shelby has two little kids, a husband, a black cat and a garden.
